Located in downtown Seattle, Fonte's flagship store started as an empty shell at the base of the Four Seasons Hotel. The unimproved space had low ceilings, exposed piping, limited natural light and a finish floor sunk below street level.
The build out was fast-tracked. The cafe connects to the street by a dimpled steel ramp. Curvy steel columns direct customers from the entrance to a brightly lit bar. Rough sawn cedar soffits house lighting, hide utilities and float over the banquettes and tables. Raised white leather benches sit under the windows providing patrons with views of First Avenue and the Seattle Art Museum.
The cafe features distinct dining areas, a professional kitchen lead by chef, Jason Wilson of Crush, and a back bar that showcases Fonte’s extensive wine collection. Floisand Studio designed the exterior signage for the café and worked with Fonte to develop company branding.
